September Recap

BITCOIN (BTC) HAD A QUIET SEPTEMBER DESPITE ONCE AGAIN BOUNCING NEAR KEY SUPPORT.
We’re left in a very similar position heading into the 4th quarter – trying to break the ninth month series of lower highs.
However, outside of BTC, there were some fireworks.  Of the most followed Cryptos, Ripple (XRP) made the biggest move.  From the low on 9/17 to the high on 9/21, XRP gained nearly 200%.  While we’re talking about an asset priced near 50 cents, this is still a monstrous percent move and something we haven’t seen in quite some time.
From low to high, Litecoin (XLC) saw a near 40% gain and Ethereum (ETH), a +50% advance.
They all remain materially below their respective highs, but seeing Crypto assets OTHER than BTC garner some attention – and more importantly, capital – was a surprising development in September.
This did little to alter the larger dowtrends, but any reversal process needs building blocks to leverage.  Consolidating above the lows would be a helpful next step.
